Week 10 late again!

Alright. Let's make this nice, quick and keep it simple.

Week 10 assignments:

1. Describe how your interview went.

As I already once wrote down I thought that the entire process for the interview situation seemed fabricated. And it would've been worse (although might've been seen as more natural) if we had written down in advance all the questions and answers.

Now, I admit that I did not see all the random questions, but what I saw and heard were pretty bad.
The fact that you just pick up at some point a random question and ask it, it destroys nine times out of ten the entire flow of the interview. This is mostly because you have no idea what the question is going to be, or at which point it would be logical to ask the question.

Now as not to make this all too uptight I will note that secretly I had been hoping against hope that I would get to be the interviewer, I had great questions and segways in mind for the entire interview process. Alas, such was my luck that all was destroyed when those pieces of paper were moved aside and reality settled in. *snivle*

2. Ponder upon these! (yarrharrharr)

a) What were you particurlarly good at? What should you keep practicing? What did you learn during the planning of, and during the actual interview?

Well... let's see now (tilt my head 90 degrees to the right), according to my workpartner my language skills were particurlarly good. Everything else was a step above average. Which I'm totally ok with.

And while continuing trying to break my neck (all in vain, also just joking) I may answer the second question in the same style, my partner deemed it correct to assess that I need to improve my small talking skills. Well... I can't deny that, I don't do small talk, or, I feel awkward trying to force small talk. Any which way, I pick that.

The final question... (also why is it that teachers allways cheat with numbering questions? As an example we can take this series of questions, it's marked as "a)" but in truth it's a), b) and c)... shame on you...)
Back to the question... what did I learn? That's more difficult than you'd expect, and because of that I will answer "allways expect the unexpected".

b) What did your partner focus on? What sort of feedback did you expect? Did their assessment help you see your strengths and points of improvement? Why?

Now... before I even start, I just wanna note that asking a single word question is also a copout. Smacking a why after something is not a valid way of finding out something properly. (Just wanted to put that out there, think about it.)

Okay. My partner obviously focused on how well I did my small talk. And quite honestly I expected way worse feedback than I got, which tells me that my partner was lazy in writing it down.
Did the assessment help? Why? No, and just because... just because.

c) What did you focus on when assessing you partners interview situation? Did you help your partner to see his weaknesses and strentghs? In what way?

I... uh... I umm... oh would you look at the time! I'm need to go and write... uh... something... somewhere... bye...
